REVERSE PULL HEADGEAR is a very important part of your orthodontic treatment. A reverse pull headgear will help move your upper jaw forward with growth, which is critical to do at a young age, thereby reducing or eliminating the need for more involved treatment later in life. This treatment is to be taken very seriously and followed precisely if an acceptable result is to be acheived.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The headgear attaches to two molar teeth and with elastics. Those teeth may be sore for a few days. Sleeping will be different at first and there may be an adjustment period. If the bands or expander that the headgear is attached to comes loose, discontinue the reverse pull headgear and call our office to set up a time to be seen.
DO wear your reverse pull headgear when you are at home, after dinner and wear it all night. Do not wear it to school.
DO wear your headgear consistently everyday to get proper orthodontic benefit.
DON’T ever let someone pull on your headgear and never play rough while wearing it.
DON’T skip any days! This will cause improper movement and will delay your treatment.
